Yesterday was the annual NSW Tri Club Championships. We had 20 of our Club register. Not as many as last year but still a good turnout!
Club champs has a late start with the first swim wave starting at 12.30pm. My wave was unfortunately at 1:25pm. The swim was terrible for me yesterday- I felt slow and fighting the water the entire time. I was so glad to get out of the water.. Then has to run 400m thru sand and transition to get to my bike.
I was so glad to be on my bike as I usually enjoy the ride… I totally forgot how hilly this course is. If your not going up or down, you are turning sharp corners. You have one flat straight of maybe 200m on the course. It was long, slow and painful.
The run was in the hottest part of the day. I have no idea how warm it actually was. The forecast was 28 but I’m fairly sure it would have been maybe 33 or more. I ended up walking more than I wanted to but still managed to finish with a 2 minute PB on last year.
I still managed to see some of the MTC crew on course even though most of them were finishing when I was on the bike!
Next up is MTC handicap race and last race of the Tri season on 17th April followed by UTA 13th May! 🐢
